If you are doing a degree in business, economics or finance and wish to learn more about everyday practice in investment banking, join goetzpartners as an intern. Over a period of at least eight weeks, you have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in projects and get to know goetzpartners better. Right from your first day on the job, you will be a full member of the project team. And what can you expect? You support the team in ongoing buy-side and sell-side mandates, and help to produce finance and valuation models (Multiples, DCF). Furthermore, you will participate in conducting market and competitor analyses, create company profiles, help to prepare pitch materials, and lists of potential buyer and targets. You will be guided by an experienced mentor throughout your internship.
Interns with outstanding performance will be invited to join our focus group program, and we stay in touch with you after your internship. High potentials have the opportunity to take part in training courses and local events, and benefit from an accelerated direct-entry recruitment process.
In addition to classic on-the-job training, we offer a variety of opportunities for you to develop and grow both professionally and personally, and to acquire fresh insights and impressions.
The goetzpartners Academy makes you fit for consultancy practice. The learning curve is steep and challenging. Right after joining us, new recruits take part in Introduction Daysto get to know all our departments and the tools we use. You will also be trained in Excel and Powerpoint, and introduced to the subject of databases. During internships there is the possibility to attend other tool training, courses to build hard and soft skills, and teambuilding events.
By your side from day one: your mentor. He or she will make sure you settle in and help you with any questions you have about your internship or professional and personal development. Your project team will take care of coaching in everyday practice, and you will receive detailed, constructive feedback from your project manager as part of project evaluations during your internship. You can channel this feedback into actively progressing your own development.
Corporate Finance projects are usually handled from the respective location, which means there are few opportunities for international assignments in project work. However, there are close working relationships with our international offices, with particularly strong collaboration in cross-border transactions. If you join us after your degree, there is the possibility of spending 6-12 months at another goetzpartners location under our Office Transfer Program.
If you impress us with outstanding performance during your internship, we will ask you to join our program. Even after your internship is over, your mentor will stay in touch to answer any questions you have around career and development. You are invited to training courses, presentations and other local events, as well as our regular Team Spirit events, where you can keep the conversation going and stay in contact. Last but not least, you benefit from an accelerated direct-entry recruitment process.
If you wish to get to know investment banking practice and goetzpartners through an internship, you should apply four months in advance of your preferred start date. Applications are welcome at any time. Please send us your complete application with cover letter and CV. We shall carefully review your application, and give you our response shortly afterwards.
The recruiting day is all about getting to know one other and exploring the fit - professional and personal - between potential recruits and goetzpartners. We present our company, give insights into how we work, and answer all your questions.
In four personal and technical interviews you then have the opportunity to present yourself and debate cases on subjects such as finance & accounting, or corporate valuation. You are told of the final decision within a few days.
