The Munich SchlaU-Schule educates around 320 young refugees to the level of Bavarian Middle School, giving them the opportunity to obtain mainstream school-leaving qualifications. Pupils are given individual support alongside their school lessons, with the result that the young people are soon able to join the mainstream German education system.
With a graduation rate of consistently over 95 percent, the SchlaU School is one of Germany’s most successful integration projects, and has already reaped multiple awards: the Munich School Award, the German Engagement Prize and the German School Award.
HOW GOETZPARTNERS HELPS
goetzpartners began supporting the SchlaU school eight years ago, helping through volunteering projects, pro bono consulting projects, donations from the goetzpartners Foundation and management coaching. The joint projects range from recruitment days for SchlaU School graduates, to developing the SchlaU Group’s organizational structure and governance, and devising and implementing long-term financing and multiplication strategies.
