I had some pretty specific ideas of what my future employer should be like: a strong track record in the mid-market segment across a range of industries, an international outlook with cross-border transactions, a culture in which you can quickly take responsibility, and an open and friendly way of working within teams. I’ve now been with goetzpartners for over three years, and can say my expectations have been fully met – which is one of the reasons why I enjoy coming into work every day.
I personally think every project is challenging in its own way. Even if the proceeding of buying or selling a company is basically standardized, our projects take place in different industries, with a range of client personalities. Many are also international, and have a different cultural background. So despite all the process expertise, it ultimately comes down to the interpersonal component. Despite standardization, you’re faced with individual challenges every day, which is what makes the work so varied.
goetzpartners offers a whole range of opportunities to develop professionally and personally. For example, I spent four months in our Paris office as part of our office transfer program. The local team made me feel very welcome, and showed me not only new approaches and methods, but of course also their great city. It was fun to get to know my colleagues better and to work on French-German cross-border projects. All in all it was a great experience, and proved valuable back in Munich as well.
I did my bachelor's degree in economics at the University of Bayreuth and then a master's degree in finance, accounting, controlling and tax. During my studies, I spent some time abroad, an exciting experience that benefits me today in the international environment at goetzpartners. I first started my career in auditing, but soon discovered my passion for corporate finance. That’s where I’ve ended up – and I don’t plan to change any time soon!
